Design limitations

This service is provided for unique sequences found in the NCBI nucleotide database and is intended for use by research scientists and companies interested in multiplexes of human, mouse and other mammalian species. For novel combinations of microbial targets please eMail for a quotation.

In order to validate the assays we may require the customer to provide a template if the targets are not found in human or mouse reference RNA. If for any reason it is not possible to design a satisfactory assay for a particular target AusDiagnostics may decline to produce an MT-PCR panel including that gene.

Pricing

A fee is charged for the design and evaluation of primers comprising a custom panel. The minimum size of panel is 12 targets. The design fee must be paid in advance. Up to three rounds of primers will be designed, synthesised and tested. If a successful assay has not been found in three rounds of primer design the customer will be contacted to supply an alternative target. A successful assay is defined as having essentially a single product with universal RNA template and negligible product with no templated added.

The charge for design and evaluation is $120 per target.

When the multiplex is complete the customer will be invited to purchase discs with a minimum order of 2 boxes (20 discs or plates). Mastermix, not containing enzymes, is supplied with the order.

The charge for discs or plates is $750 per box of ten.
